There’s always something changing around town. A new restaurant to try, a business getting ready to open or a familiar place saying goodbye—we’re keeping track so you can stay in the loop.
Keep up with Buda’s business openings, announced plans, rebrands and development updates below.
Editorial review: October 20, 2026. Opening plans can change. Check the linked source for the latest information.
How we keep this list current: Coming Soon entries stay until opening is confirmed. Openings, closures and completed moves stay on this updates list for three calendar months after the change. Older entries leave this list, not the general business directory. Unverified dates are marked rather than guessed. A source-check date is not a new business announcement.

Planned location: Southbound I-35 access road, north of Main Street, according to the City and Buda EDC announcement.
Source checked: October 8, 2026.
Status: New-store development plans; no confirmed customer-opening date.
H-E-B plans to turn a former landfill site into a new grocery destination. The agreement also calls for redevelopment of its existing Buda store property at 15300 S. IH-35 after the new store opens.
The September 22, 2026 state filing describes a 132,563-square-foot grocery store with an estimated construction cost of $61.25 million. It lists construction beginning May 1, 2027, with estimated completion June 12, 2028.
Address clarification: The state filing lists 15300 South IH-35, while the City and Buda EDC identify that address as the existing store and describe the new site separately. We’re using the official location description until a final new-store street address is confirmed.
Read the City and Buda EDC announcement and the September state filing. Construction estimates are not an opening announcement.

Rebrands & Business Changes
Taste on Main / TasTe Italian Steakhouse

Status: Announced restaurant rebrand; the business’s September 4 release named September 24, 2026 as its planned launch.
Taste on Main announced a shift to TasTe Italian Steakhouse, pairing its steakhouse roots with Italian dishes, including handmade pastas. This is a change to an existing restaurant, rather than a separate new location.
The restaurant’s press announcement outlines the new concept. The restaurant website still uses Taste on Main branding, so check directly for the current menu and details; we have not independently confirmed the announced launch took place on September 24.

The Roundabout marked its progress with a community shovel ceremony in September. The developer’s update also highlights three vintage cabooses being kept on-site for a future venue.

Buda Sportsplex / Buda Championship Park Expansion
Location: 310 Buda Sportsplex Drive, Buda.
Source checked: October 8, 2026.
Status: Confirmed expansion project; completion and full opening of the expanded facilities have not been independently verified.
More fields and tournament visitors are part of the plan for Buda Championship Park. The City’s August update describes eight softball fields, 20 batting cages, four re-sodded multipurpose fields and more than 800 parking spaces when the redevelopment is complete.
The City also announced $3 million in Buda EDC investment supporting the project. The goal is to bring more tournaments and visiting families to town, with benefits for local restaurants, shops and hotels.
The Phase I state record lists a $15.17 million project and an estimated September 16, 2026 completion date. That date has passed, but a filed estimate alone does not confirm the expansion is finished or open.
See the City’s August announcement and Phase I state filing for the documented plans.
